The origins of Meanwhile, Back in the Library…
Meanwhile, Back in the Library is the latest Library Exhibition celebrating comics, graphic novels, picture books and caricature. Now you may be wondering why the library has such a varied comic collection – it’s because over time we’ve purchased them in response to the teaching and research needs of the University.
Currently, research interests range from war comics to understanding how readers navigate comic pages using eye tracking equipment to investigating the construction of meaning in comics and the link with education. You can find out more about how comics fit into our libraries in the first part of our exhibition, the role of comics in academia.
