Festive events from across campus – ho ho ho!
As the nights are getting darker, the weather a little colder and the festive season just around the corner, what better time to savour the wonderful variety of fortified wines the world has on offer? From the ports of Portugal, the sherries of Spain and wines of Madeira, be prepared to embark on a journey tasting some of a selection of these fascinating wines.
Under the expert knowledge of Barry Starmore, owner of the specialist wine retailer StarmoreBoss, you will learn about the different styles of fortified wine, hear some captivating stories about independent producers and try their delightful wines. With over 25 years in the wine industry, starting as a sommelier at The Savoy, Barry is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wine, and should be a very entertaining evening.
The purpose of these events are to bring together Sheffield Hallam University students and staff, local hospitality employers and like-minded individuals, who wish to develop their understanding and appreciation of various different food and beverages.
