The Development and Alumni Relations team will be running an engagement campaign during graduation fortnight to encourage ongoing affinity and create a sense of pride in becoming a Sheffield Hallam graduate. We’ll showcase graduation and our graduates’ achievements to a wide audience of stakeholders.
We will also raise the profile of key aspects of the alumni offer — including the Graduate Support Programme managed through DEEP for 2016/2017 graduates, wider careers support, postgraduate study options and self-employment support.
Between Monday 13th and Friday 24th November more than 7400 students will graduate from Hallam, in front of an audience of over 26000 family and friends at City Hall. Our campaign activities include:
- FREE instant photos for our graduates who post their social media pictures to Twitter and Instagram with #WeAreHallam. We’ve had huge success in the past using the provider SquareShare, the award-winning business of alumnus Tom Stayte, and last year we printed over 5,500 photos throughout the fortnight!
- The Class of 2017 graduation film will be shown before each ceremony and shared across social media. The film is directed and produced by current students, Joe Georgiou, Ed Brooks, James Howe and Eddie Weller who have just entered their 3rd year on BA Film and Media Production course.
- Social media activity during the fortnight including; two-way communication with graduates, inviting some of our Class of 2017 to post to Sheffield Hallam’s Snapchat story and a bespoke Snapchat geofilter for graduates to add to their own stories.
Please join in the celebrations and post about graduation on social media with #WeAreHallam, and visit https://www.shu.ac.uk/classof2017 for more information.
The graduation schedule can be found here, and from Monday 13th November the ceremonies will be streamed live throughout the fortnight.
