Mental health training courses

As part of the new Mental Health hub, we offer training courses to both staff and managers:

For all staff

Mental Health Awareness for Individuals
Delivered by the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust
A 1 day course aimed at all staff providing info on common MH conditions. It will concentrate on how to support self and others ranging from spotting early warning signs through to providing support and coping strategies.
Running in December 2017 and June 2018. More information.

Mindfulness – An introduction
Delivered by the Facilities Directorate
An introduction to mindfulness, with techniques to unwind and de-stress. This taster session gives you an opportunity to take some well-deserved time out in your hectic lives, to focus your attention on the present moment, to enjoy it and see the benefits that can be gained in your everyday lives. Running from November 2017 – July 2018. **Bitesize** Mental Health & Wellbeing – Supporting yourself and your staff

Delivered by Sheffield MIND Charity

A 2 hour session aimed at managers providing info on what MH is, how is it linked to stress and how managers can look after themselves as well as supporting their team. Running throughout November and December 2017. More information.

Mental Health – Skills for line managers
Delivered by the Charlie Waller Memorial Trust
A 1 day course aimed at managers covering the common MH conditions. It provides guidance to managers ranging from spotting early warning signs in staff through to supporting an individual who is absence from work due to MH reasons. Running in February and March 2018. More information
