We are delighted to announce that we will be launching the Sheffield Hallam University LGBT+ Allies Network on 31 October, City View, Owen Building, 4.00pm – 6.00pm.
Launching the network reinforces our commitment to ensuring equality and inclusion across the university. Being an ally means being an advocate, supporter and friend. Someone that stands up for their colleagues and helps to create a working environment where LGBT+ colleagues feel included and accepted, standing up for and championing LGBT+ equality.
At the event you will hear from Chris Husbands, Vice-Chancellor, and John Leach, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic Staffing and Equalities, who tells us what it means to be an ally, “I’m an ally because I believe in supporting everyone to live honestly as themselves”.
Allies really can make a difference so please get involved and show your visible support by signing up to attend the event via EventBrite or by signing up to be an ally at SIGNAL blog.
