In February, the sustainability team invited all University staff to take part in a staff travel survey. This survey aimed to assess the progress made against the baseline set in the 15/16 survey. Over 900 responses came in from across the various faculties and directorates. SHU Sustainability would like to give a big thank you to those who took part.
You can read a detailed report on the results, which presents the key findings from the survey.
Next steps:
The survey results revealed that cycling to work and zero carbon methods when travelling between campuses has increased. The survey also demonstrated that offering better discounts for public transport should be a priority for staff travel the University.
From these results a business case has been built to negotiate better staff discounts with transport providers.
