Pride Sheffield and Sheffield Pinknic – can you help?

Sheffield Hallam is proudly sponsoring Pride Sheffield and Sheffield Pinknic – can you help?

Sheffield Hallam will have stalls at both Sheffield Pinknic and Pride Sheffield again this year, two popular local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT+) events. Members of our LGBT+ staff network SIGNAL, the Equality and Diversity team, HR Recruitment team and Library and Student Support Services will be supporting the two events, and we’re looking for some volunteers from our staff population to join them on the day.

Are you passionate about achieving an inclusive and diverse society and would like to show your support?

Sheffield Pinknic – Saturday 15 July, 11am-7pm at the Peace Gardens – Sheffield’s free LGBT+ event with entertainment, music, food, stalls and family activities throughout the day.

Pride Sheffield – Saturday 29 July, 12pm-7pm at Endcliffe Park – Pride Sheffield is an annual free festival bringing together the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Non-binary community and their friends, families and allies.

How you can help

You do not have to identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans to take part. Straight allies are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to attend or volunteer at the events.

We are looking for people to help:

  • support staff at the stall [Sheffield Pinknic and Pride Sheffield]
  • volunteer as a steward [Sheffield Pinknic and Pride Sheffield]
  • take part in the march [Pride Sheffield]

If you are interested and available to help with any of the above please contact Tom Reaney on lgbt@shu.ac.uk or on extension 2788.
