SHU launched its initial Apprenticeship offer in June 2015 and by October was running a Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship and Higher Apprenticeships in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and also Facilities Management. Since then SHU has secured and deployed nearly £500,000 of HEFCE money to support collaborations with the Local Economic Partnership and other Apprenticeship Providers, to expand our Apprenticeship offer and Apprenticeship starts. As SHU launches a Strategic Vision, one of the University’s top priorities for the next three years is embedded in its Implementation Plan:
“creating a high quality and efficient Degree Apprenticeship portfolio, embedding the University’s position as the leading Degree Apprenticeship provider”.
A series of upcoming breakfast briefings for SHU staff will provide an update on SHU’s expanding HDA portfolio, latest activities, as well as post-election updates and the launch of a new teaching resource. The briefing is presented in two parts. The first part is an ideal introduction to those who have no previous knowledge of Apprenticeships, or those who would like a refresher. The second part provides some more detailed information and will be particularly useful for colleagues who are already involved in developing or delivering programmes. All are welcome to attend both parts of the session. The briefings are being held at the following times:
- Thursday 8 June – City Campus Careers Centre, 8.30-10.30am
- Monday 12 June – Collegiate Campus HC1.52, 8.30-10.30am
- Tuesday 13 June – City Campus Careers Centre, 8.30-10.30am
