Here at Sheffield Hallam we have been involved in Athena SWAN work since 2008. We have held an institutional bronze award since 2010 and we are working to renew our award in November 2017.
The VC signed the University up to the new Athena SWAN principles to advance gender equality and enhance our University Strategy mission to transform lives. As part of our ongoing work, we would like to invite you to take part in a focus group to discuss several key areas so that we can find out how we are doing.
- Institutional leadership and staff profile
- recruitment and promotion
- career development and training
- Flexibility and career breaks
- Organisational culture
We want the focus groups to represent our diverse staff voices so we encourage all staff; academics, professional services staff, and technical staff to get involved. Whether you are familiar with Athena SWAN or not your views on gender equality are very important to us.
We are running two focus groups on two separate days:
- Wednesday 24 May: 11.30am–1pm and 2pm–3.30pm
- Friday 26 May: 11.30am-1pm and 2pm-3.30pm
The focus groups will be run by external independent consultants in a safe environment where all discussions and data will be treated with confidence and written up anonymously.
We would really like to hear from the full range of staff so if you would like to take part in one of our focus groups then please visit Eventbrite to book your place.
