Salary: Senior Staff Grade – £50,034 to 53,034 per annum dependent on experience
The Directorate of Library & Student Support Services has brought together two high performing and student-focused departments: Library Services and Student Support Services. The feedback we elicit from students through our “Have your say” campaign is extremely positive and our NSS scores remain consistently high.
As a Head of Skills you will have responsibility for developing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating an holistic Skills Framework. Within an environment that encourages innovation, you will lead the Skills Team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of academic skills. You will play a key role in working collaboratively with colleagues across the Directorate and the University as a whole to develop a joined-up approach to supporting students to develop the wider set of skills required for success. You will also, in collaboration with colleagues in other areas of the University, manage, develop and extend approaches to peer-led learning.
You must have significant knowledge, experience and understanding of delivering a range of skills training including an understanding of current theory and practice in relation to skills delivery. Knowledge and experience of promoting inclusive learning, teaching practices and diversity issues in higher education is essential to ensure we can meet needs of our diverse student body. Experience of financial and budget management is also essential for this role.
