Eminent human rights lawyer Philippe Sands will be holding a talk on his book East West Street: On the Origins of Genocide and Crimes against Humanity at the Showroom Cinema.
Sands will discuss his book, the study of war crimes and their prosecution. Part historical detective story, part family story, part legal thriller East West Street presents parallel tragedies from Nazi occupied Poland and the Nuremburg trial. His talk will be followed by a screening of his documentary My Nazi Legacy at 8.30pm .The film follows Philippe Sands researching for his book in this documentary film. He travels with Niklas Frank and Horst von Wachter, septuagenarian sons of Nazi leaders in East West Street and explores their opposing views on the legacy of their father’s actions. It won the Yad Vashem Chairman’s Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival..
Tickets for the talk and film are sold separately and are £8.00 /£6.50 (cons) for the talk and £8.50 and £6.30 for the film ( cons). You can go to either the talk or the film screening or both.
