On Friday 10 February, 9am until 1pm, Quatro Public Affairs are holding a half-day session in Charles Street which could be useful for SHU staff whose work includes an element of regional engagement. Amongst other things, the session will cover: –
- How the devolution model has developed in recent years;
- A look at the 2017 Mayoral elections and the current situation within our region (which will no doubt include the recent announcement that a Sheffield City Region mayoral election will be postponed until May 2018 and Doncaster/Barnsley are considering a Yorkshire-wide option);
- What powers will Mayors likely have and how they will differ;
- Likely further devolution and regional policy.
Liam Ronan at Quatro, who will be running the session, has extremely good links with leading regional figures – so the session looks like being useful and informative. Staff wishing to attend can e-mail Liam at lronan@quatro-pr.co.uk and he will arrange an invoice – the fee is £135 per ticket + VAT which includes refreshments and a networking lunch. More information can be found on the Eventbrite page.
