The Abbeydale Singers’ Christmas concert – Saturday 17 December

The Abbeydale Singers’ Christmas Concert, ‘O Magnum Mysterium!’, Musical Director – Kevin Haighton, will be held in St Mark’s Church, Broomhill at 7.30 pm on Saturday 17 December. 

The first half of the programme will explore various beautiful and evocative settings of the Christmas texts Hodie Christus Natus Est and O Magnum Mysterium by a variety of composers including Palestrina, Gabrielli, Poulenc, Lauridsen and Andrew Carter.

During the interval the choir will bring complimentary refreshments (wine, soft drinks, mince pies and shortbread) to you in your seats so you won’t need to queue.

The second half includes highlights such as Vaughan Williams’ brilliant Fantasia on Christmas Carols, together with ever popular favourites such as Ukrainian Bell Carol and Deck the Hall!

Young musicians from  the Sheffield Music Academy will perform during the first and second halves of the concert and the organist will be Peter Heginbotham.

Tickets are priced at £12, £10 (concessions) and £6 (students with a student card).  Children under 16 are admitted free of charge.
