The government’s apprenticeship reform plans set out ambitions to radically overhaul the development, delivery and funding of apprenticeships in England. Plans include an acceleration in the development of higher and degree apprenticeships and the introduction of the apprenticeship levy for all large employers.
As a leading provider of higher and degree apprenticeships, Sheffield Hallam is working closely with stakeholders to understand the implications of these reforms and to maximise the benefits of our apprenticeship programmes for both individuals and businesses.
The latest government Apprenticeship Funding rules were published in October, and in early November Sheffield Hallam hosted a highly successful event for employers about the reforms. In December the Directorate of Education and Employer Partnerships offers staff the opportunity to attend an internally focused breakfast briefing. This will help you navigate the new Apprenticeship Funding rules, to understand the implications for the University as an employer as well as a provider, and to see how we are planning for the Apprenticeship Levy.
There will be two briefings at City Campus and one at Collegiate Campus:
- Thursday 8 December, 8.30 – 10am, Hallam View, City Campus.
- Monday 12 December, 8.30 – 10am, Hallam View, City Campus.
- Thursday 15 December, 8.30 – 10am, HC.0.15, Collegiate Crescent Campus.
