The Development and Alumni Relations team will be running an engagement campaign during graduation fortnight to encourage an ongoing affinity and create a sense of pride in becoming a Sheffield Hallam graduate. We’ll showcase graduation and our graduates’ achievements to a wide audience of stakeholders.
We will also raise the profile of key aspects of the alumni offer — careers support, postgraduate scholarships and self-employment support.
Between Monday 14 – Friday 25 November more than 7,000 students will graduate from Hallam, in front of an audience of over 30,000 family and friends at City Hall. Our campaign activities include:
- Free instant photos for our graduates who post their social media pictures with #WeAreHallam. We are using SquareShare, the award-winning business of alumnus Tom Stayte, and last year printed over 4,000 photos.
- The Class of 2016 graduation film will be shown before each ceremony and shared across social media. The film is directed and produced by fellow 2016 graduates Chris Lowe and Jake Richardson of Blue|SHIFT Video and features a poem by Alex Russell, President of the Creative Writing Society, which is narrated by student Hassun El Zafar.
- Social media activity during the fortnight, including a graduate takeover of the Hallam Instagram account, a bespoke Snapchat geofilter for graduates to add to their stories, and our Hallam Insiders roaming City Hall on Facebook Live.
Please join in the celebrations and post about graduation on social media with #WeAreHallam, and visit shu.ac.uk/classof2016 for more information.
The graduation schedule can be found on our website, and the ceremonies will be streamed live throughout the fortnight.
