Catalyst: festival of creativity

Throughout 2016, our students and academic experts are working with local artists, makers and the people of Sheffield on a series of creative projects and one-off events that stretch right across our streets, markets, creative spaces and communities.

Upcoming Catalyst festival events:

2−8 November
Making: Timber Gridshells – View and Understand

This exhibition looks at ideas about architecture, engineering and lightweight timber construction.

The exhibition takes place in the Arundel Room at the Millennium Gallery from 2−8 November, with a private view on 4 November from 7pm. It then continues at Level 5, Owen Building until 12 December.

5−19 November
Ernest Gordon Adsetts

Glass designer, sculptor and Sheffield Institute of Arts graduate Ernest Gordon Adsetts was one of the most renowned designers in the Swedish glass industry. This exhibition of his work explores his career, techniques and philosophy.

Venue: Post Hall, Sheffield Institute of Arts, Fitzalan Square

All Our Brains – Exhibition

This six-week exhibition of new artwork aims to interpret and unravel different dementias. It will also explore living with dementia, the science and the symptoms and everyday life as a carer.

Venue: Sheffield Institute of Arts Gallery, Cantor Building
