Anyone who works in the higher education sector cannot have escaped the fact that the Government is introducing a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) which aims to recognise and reward excellent learning and teaching. The Department for Education (DfE) recently published the specification for Year Two of the TEF, following its technical consultation launched in May.
But what exactly is the TEF? How does it work? What does it mean for us? How are we responding? The answers to these questions and links to further information are available on a newly published page on the staff intranet https://staff.shu.ac.uk/TeachingExcellenceFramework.asp. You can also find out more about the university’s TEF Steering Group along with project milestones and timescales.
For more information please contact Linda Mason (linda.mason@shu.ac.uk), Graham Holden (g.j.holden@shu.ac.uk ) or any member of the TEF Steering Group.
