Student Engagement, Evaluation and Research (StEER) has launched a new blog to publicise the work which is being undertaken in the Directorate. StEER was formed in 2015, to support the needs of students, as identified through the generation, evaluation and analysis of student information. This includes evaluations and surveys, as well as student engagement at all levels of our formal and informal structures. Our aim is to inform and develop practice within the University, in order to improve the student experience and support the delivery of the University Strategy.
Our current work prioritises:
- student experience information (NSS, DLHE, UKES, PTES/PRES, MEQ, KIS)
- impact evaluations (retention, employability, WP/access)
- student engagement and student voice
- understanding and responding to differential outcomes (e.g. attainment gaps)
- learner analytics
Our blog documents current and forthcoming research projects, publications, activities, events and workshops which we are involved in both internally to SHU and externally within the wider HE sector.
