University leads the way in awards listing

Three of Sheffield Hallam’s iconic buildings have been shortlisted in the People’s Choice category at this year’s Sheffield Design Awards, vying to be voted as Sheffield’s favourite building – and you can add your support by casting a vote for your own favourite.

The Sheffield Institute of Arts (SIA), based in the old Head Post Office, Charles Street – the new home of the Sheffield Institute of Education –  and Heart of the Campus all make the list of city buildings being put to the public vote.  Both Charles Street and SIA have also been nominated for the top prize as ‘best building’ of the year, decided by a judging panel, in an impressive shortlist of 12.

Both Charles Street and SIA opened to students earlier this year, following on from the unveiling of Heart of the Campus in 2014.  It is a real coup for the University to have three of our buildings nominated for these prestigious local awards, and demonstrates the strength of the investment we have made across both campuses in recent years.

Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will be held on 26 October at the old Head Post Office. Meanwhile you can vote for your favourite building by clicking the voting link here.
