SHUWellness course – First Steps to Being Active

This course comprises of 2 x 1 hour sessions. The first session is designed to boost your knowledge around the physical activity guidelines and focuses on the importance of small steps. You will then have a number of weeks to take those small steps and begin to increase your activity. The second session will be facilitated 8 weeks later. This session has been designed for you to reflect on your progress and identify strategies around relapse prevention and barrier management.        

Please note that you must be available for both of these sessions:

  • Session 1 – 5 October, 12.15pm – 1.15pm at City Campus
  • Session 2 – 7 December, 12.15pm – 1.15pm at City Campus

Participating in this workshop will assist you in:

  • Increasing your awareness of physical activity recommendations and the benefits of being active.
  • Exploring the principals to physical activity and finding activities that are right for you.
  • Creating a personalised bespoke exercise goal
  • Tracking your progress at week 8
  • Identifying barrier management and relapse prevention strategy
