Change effective from:
Policy approved April 2015; new online process live 3 October 2016.
Summary of change
The University Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy was approved in April 2015. Since then, a small working group of Faculty and departmental representatives has been developing the system and tools for its implementation.
The management of the RPL submission will be undertaken through a new electronic system which will go live on 3 October 2016.
The assessment of RPL claims will remain an academic decision and be managed within Departments and Faculties in line with the approved policy.
What’s different?
- From October 2016 RPL claims will be managed through an online system, which can be accessed via the link below.
- Training events were held on 12 and 19 of September for academics engaged in RPL activity.
- All Faculties have an identified RPL lead who will be able to familiarise you with the system, should you need to use it.
- ACES: Mike Bramhall
- HWB: John Freeman
- SBS: Amanda Foster
- D&S: Rebecca Hodgson
- Resources are available to support academics in designing and assessing RPL claims. These are being developed by the Learning Enhancement and Academic Development team (LEAD).
- A blog is also being set up to help support colleagues developing and assessing RPL claims.
