Off the Shelf has grown into one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year. The festival programme is wide ranging and offers over 200 events for all ages.

To celebrate our long standing support of the Off the Shelf festival we are giving away tickets to the following events:

Between the Extremes – Nick Clegg on Friday 16 September, 6pm at the Pennine Lecture Theatre.

In this event Nick Clegg offers a frank and honest account of his spectacular rise in the 2010 general election, through his tumultuous years as Deputy Prime Minister, to a brutal defeat in 2015 in order to tell the inside story of this change and reflect on what it means for our future.

We have two pairs of tickets to give away for this event.

They All Love Jack – Bruce Robinson on Wednesday 21 September, 8pm at the Spiegeltent Barkers Pool

There have been unending theories about ‘The Mystery of Jack the Ripper’.The award-winning film director and screenwriter Bruce Robinson,(Withnail and I, The Rum Diary, The Killing Fields),exposes the cover-up that enabled one of history’s most notorious serial killers to remain at large. His book journeys through the cesspools of late-Victorian society – highly placed villains, hypocrites and corruption.

Followed by a screening of Withnail and I introduced by Bruce.

We have one pair of tickets to give away for this event.

To be in with a chance of winning email your contact details and the tickets you would like to win to eview@shu.ac.uk by the closing date of Wednesday 14 September. The first names drawn from all the entries will be the winners and notified on the closing date. Good luck!
