As part of Sheffield City Council’s Streets Ahead works, there will be some road resurfacing in the Sharrow Vale area, including on Collegiate Crescent and Broomgrove Road. This work will take place from 20 June for approximately 1 week and some roads will be closed in order to complete the work.
Please find below the schedule for AMEY’s proposed works for the Collegiate site. The programme remains heavily dependent on the weather and is still therefore subject to change. AMEY have communicated that both roads will be closed for the majority of the week but that access will always be given wherever it is safe to do so.
Please note that parking restrictions will be in place all week (except Thursday 23 June on Collegiate Crescent due to the polling station being open for the EU referendum).
Monday
- Collegiate Crescent – Closed all day. No access from Ecclesall Rd or Victoria Rd because of deep reconstruction. Severely limited access from elsewhere.
- Broomgrove Rd – Open
Tuesday
- Collegiate Crescent – Closed all day to remove the remainder of surfacing and to adjust ironwork. Severely limited access until road planning is finished.
- Broomgrove Rd – Closed all day. Severely limited access but heavy plant and machinery not starting until Collegiate Crescent is finished (this will remain closed).
Wednesday
- Collegiate Crescent – Closed all day. Severely limited or no access because of operations to lay new surfacing.
- Broomgrove Rd – Open all day.
Thursday
- Collegiate Crescent – There are still some works ongoing, but the road will be open and access available for the rest of the week. As it is the EU Referendum, AMEY will not be working on the entrance to the polling station (Oaklands) and all parking restrictions will be lifted.
- Broomgrove Rd – Closed all day. Access allowed where it is safe to do so.
Friday
- Collegiate Crescent – OPEN.
- Broomgrove Rd – OPEN (work should be complete)
