Road resurfacing works around Collegiate – from 20 June

As part of Sheffield City Council’s Streets Ahead works, there will be some road resurfacing in the Sharrow Vale area, including on Collegiate Crescent and Broomgrove Road.  This work will take place from 20 June for approximately 1 week and some roads will be closed in order to complete the work.

The proposed works are part of the Sharrowvale Road scheme of works, having been postponed in the past. The affected areas will cover Broomgrove Road-Ecclesall Rd for approx 300m (just beyond the Pearson Building) and Collegiate Crescent, from Park Lane to Ecclesall Rd.

We have been reassured that both roads will not be closed at the same time during the week; however if there is a need to for a specific reason, Amey (Sheffield City Council’s appointed contractor) will give access where possible.

However, please note that parking restrictions will be present on all the roads that are affected in the area during the working timescales.  These will then be removed once works are completed.

The diversion routes in place during the works will be via Clarkehouse Road and Hunters Bar Roundabout, Ecclesall Road.

There will be no on-street parking on the roads that are being resurfaced and any vehicles left on-street may be towed away.

Please note: as part of the EU Referendum Polling Day on Thursday 23 June, Oaklands Building will be operating as a polling station.  There will be full access to footpaths and roads to Oaklands on that day with parking access on Collegiate Crescent for voters.
