The Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) annual survey captures a snapshot of graduate employment six months after graduation. The results are an important component of the Key Information Set (KIS) and contribute to league table measures. The survey was previously carried out by an external third party for the University but is now administered in-house, enabling closer monitoring of targets and the quality of data returned to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
The results for the 2014/15 survey are now available and are summarised below. The results show a small improvement on 2013/14 for the proportion in work or further study, a slight decrease in those in work only and a rise of 2% of those in a professional and managerial role, a key measure for the University (focusing on UK, EU and Islands graduates who studied at SHU on a FT/SW First Degree course).
- Proportion in work or further study 93%
- Proportion in work only 84%
- Proportion in a professional / managerial role 69%
