The Role of Power in the Construction of Academic Identities
Friday 4 March, 1pm-4pm, City Campus
Rachel has spent the last three years exploring leadership, power and downshifting in Higher Education. The experiences of Principal Lecturers, who represent an under-researched group, were the focus of her doctorate. Leadership research and theorising continues to concentrate on those in more senior positions, whether that research has been undertaken in or outside Higher Education.
This session will examine the role and processes of power through which leadership identities are made possible and/or difficult. The purpose of this session is to examine the ways in which power shapes you and your relationships with others.
