The Furnival Square Building has now be renamed as Bryan Nicholson Building in line with the University’s Expressions strategy. Bryan Nicholson was the University’s first Chancellor, taking up the post in 1994 until 2001. He was an important advocate of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992, which resulted in the transition from Sheffield City Polytechnic to Sheffield Hallam University.
An official renaming ceremony took place on Tuesday 15 December and the Development & Alumni team is working with Sir Bryan on developing ongoing support for the University moving forward.
The new signage for the building has been installed and email signatures will be amended to reflect the building’s new name from the 15 December onwards. Please also note that the Web Room Booking system will be amended to reflect the new name of the building and this will be operational from the New Year onwards.
