Manager requests and other pay affecting changes
Due to the Christmas and New Year period, the deadline for January 2016 payroll for manager requests and any other changes affecting January payroll will need to be received by the HR Administration Team by Thursday 17 December. Anything received after this date will not be processed until the February payroll and may result in underpayment or overpayment of salary.
Paper-based casual claims
For casual workers using paper-based timesheets, managers must submit the monthly casual worker timesheet by 5pm on Tuesday 22 December to ensure that payment is made in the January payroll. Please communicate these arrangements to any casual staff who you employ during this period.
Claims made via Core Portal
Please note that for those making claims through the Core Portal for the following items, there is no change to the normal deadline:
- Overtime
- Stand-by payments
- Call Out payments
- Academic additional hours
- Zero hours claims
- Associate Lecturer claims
- Casual workers claims (for the following posts: Independent Investigator, Casual Fitness Instructor, Sport Receptionist, Facilities Assistants working in sports venues, Chief Exam Invigilator, Exam Invigilator, Examination Invigilator & Reader, Chief Exams Invigilator (Large Venues), Quiet Monitor, Teach First Tutor)
Please bear in mind that we would normally recommend that claimants submit their timesheets at least 7 working days prior to the deadline of 5 January, to allow both approvers time to approve the claim. Please note that the University is closed from 25 December until 3 January.
