Further to previous communications regarding a power shutdown at City Campus on 17 December 2015, a decision has been taken to reschedule these necessary works and the power shutdown will take place on Wednesday 6 January 2016.
The work involves essential maintenance to equipment on the University’s high voltage network, which will require us to isolate power to ALL AREAS of the following buildings:
- Owen (including main reception, security control, Peak lecture theatre, Hallam Hall, Chef Hallam and Hallam View)
- Norfolk (including Club Hallam)
- Cantor
- Adsetts
Each building will be isolated individually and we expect the maximum power outage for each building to be 1½ hours. The only power available during this time will be emergency lighting and we therefore advise that no students or members of the public be allowed into these areas at this time. Staff presence should also be limited to critical operations only.
