Off the Shelf has grown into one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year. The festival programme is wide ranging and offers over 200 events for all ages.
To celebrate our long standing support of the Off the Shelf festival we are giving away tickets to our sponsored events and you could win tickets for the following:
Will Hutton “How Good We Can Be” – Thursday 29 October, 7pm at the Pennine Theatre (1 pair of tickets)
Political economist, writer, broadcaster and Guardian columnist Will Hutton examines how Britain could create an economy, society and democracy in which the mass of citizens flourish.
Claire Harman “Charlotte Bronte: A Life” – Saturday 31 Oct, 7pm at the Pennine Theatre (1 pair of tickets)
An entertaining evening with Claire Harman, author of acclaimed literary biographies including Jane’s Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World and Fanny Burney.
Gothic Day – Saturday 31 October, from 10.15am, various venues (2 pairs of tickets)
Join us for a day that takes you into the dark heart of the Gothic genre, exploring this fascinating subject that has timeless appeal. These tickets allow entry to the Gothic Symposium, Under the Skin: Film with introduction from Michel Faber, Andrew Wilson’s talk on Alexander McQueen and Claire Harman “Charlotte Bronte: A Life”
