Sheffield Hallam’s exemplary reputation for informing and contextualising government policy is to be celebrated in the creation of a new institute.
Bringing together public policy research in fields including education, criminology, housing and welfare, the Sheffield Institute for Policy Studies (SIPS) is a major new initiative which will operate primarily as a virtual centre, initially in The Faculty of Development and Society but also working across the University.
Its main aim is to provide a means to showcase the breadth of the university’s excellent policy research and will build on the reputation of researchers within the Sheffield Institute of Education, the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research – CRESR, the Hallam Centre for Community Justice – HCCJ, the Department of Psychology, Sociology and Politics and the Helena Kennedy Centre for International Justice
