Occasionally you may receive suspicious emails from apparently reputable sources requesting confidential information regarding financial details and email accounts. They may also threaten the imminent lock out of your account.
These emails usually contain a link prompting you to input your personal details. If you are in any doubt do not click on this link. Most of these emails are bogus, and no reputable or trustworthy organisation will ask you for information in this way.
If you enter your details by mistake, immediately:
- change your password at https://myaccount.shu.ac.uk/pwm/password.html
- contact the real organisation to register spam emails in circulation and you may have potentially compromised your account.
- forward the email to the University email administrators at: network-security@shu.ac.uk or contact IT Help.
