Sheffield Institute of Arts and Site Gallery, 11 April – 31 May 2015
Listening brings a group of international artists together to interrogate the act of listening in contemporary art. This pioneering exhibition examines the crossover between the visual and the sonic and their complex relationships to the senses. The exhibition is presented in partnership between Site Gallery and Sheffield Institute of Arts and will be displayed across the two venues.
The exhibition includes new and existing artwork, with many of the artists working in both the fields of contemporary music and art. The exhibition is ambitious in its curatorial approach, and includes a variety of media from drawings and sculpture to prints and video, and works in the exhibition range dramatically in duration from less than a second to six hours.
