Inaugural Professorial Lecture – Professor Jaydip Ray
Monday 20 April, 5.30pm for 6pm start, F518 Robert Winston Building
Maintenance of posture, balance and gait is essential to safe independent living. Loss of balance results in falls and fractures resulting in loss of activity, earning and productivity. With an active ageing population, falls pose a huge challenge to the society and the health economy. One of Professor Ray’s main research areas is the meaningful assessment and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders using novel technologies. Another area is getting the right balance in health education and training and the increasing use of simulation and augmented reality in delivering and assessing training. This area is challenging and exciting and several ongoing projects are in place.
Places are free and include light refreshments but must be booked in advance.
