Each year English Heritage run Heritage Open Days across the country and this year Sheffield Hallam is taking part for the first time.
The criteria is to either; open a building which isn’t normally open to the public, give free entry where there is normally a charge, or to put on an event specifically for the Heritage Open Day period.
On 11, 12 and 13 September, we will be taking visitors to the rooftop of our Owen Building, providing a unique opportunity to see the City of Sheffield and our campus from above. We will give a tour of the campus from the rooftop with information about the history of the university buildings and share some of our future plans for the estate.
The event is not suitable for children under the age of 16 and the roof is not accessible by lift, but children (accompanied) and disabled users can take the tour from the kitchens on level 12.
Over 50 events are taking place in Sheffield alone as part of the Open Days. For more information or to book your place go to http://www.heritageopendays.org.uk/directory/top-of-the-city-a-view-from-the-rooftop-of-sheffield-hallam-university
