A band of student volunteers from Sheffield Hallam University’s events management degree course are aiming to make sure one of the UK’s biggest urban music festivals hits the right note, as it takes over Sheffield city centre once more this weekend.
Tramlines organisers say this year’s line-up will be bigger and better than ever before, with the likes of The Cribs, Katy B, Public Enemy and Sister Sledge headlining the main stage.
With almost 200 acts billed and around 40,000 music lovers set to descend on Sheffield this weekend, Tramlines organisers have called on the help of Sheffield Hallam student volunteers to ensure everything goes according to plan.
Tramlines is just one of the events Sheffield Hallam supports through student volunteering opportunities. The University’s recent partnerships with the London 2012 Olympics and the Tour de France have given students the chance to be part of high-profile international events, enriching their CV and increasing their employability prospects.
