SHU cards needed to access the library at Adsetts and Collegiate

From Monday 1st September, all staff will need to remember their SHUcard for
swipe access to the library at Adsetts and Collegiate.

What are the benefits?
•Increased security – as part of the student experience we want to provide safe and secure learning spaces for students.
•We love statistics – the card readers help us to see who comes into the libraries – we want to understand who uses our buildings and when our peak times are, so that we can improve our services.
•More benefits coming soon – we’re working with the CASHU project to try and provide more services for SHUcard holders.

What if I forget my SHUcard?
Don’t panic! If you forget your SHUcard, you’ll be asked to provide some ID and fill in a form.

What about visitors to the learning centres?
Visitors who don’t have a card will be asked to sign in with a form of ID, and will be given a temporary pass. Regular visitors will be invited to become members of the SHU libraries.
