Every year the University invites members of academic staff to apply for Professorships (Personal Chairs). Awards are agreed by the Professoriate Committee. Candidates have to meet stringent criteria and applications are also subject to external assessment. The Professoriate Committee would like to congratulate the following staff members who were awarded professorial titles in 2013-14 for excellence in their chosen field:

- Keith Wilson, Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences – Professor of Fine Art
