Thank you to everyone who got involved with our fundraising activities last week to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care – the official charity of the Tour de France; and a newly launched fund for the University, The VC’s Fund for Care Leavers.
Staff across the university took part in donning something yellow and commuting across campus by bike.
The VC and members of our cycling team successfully completed the gruelling 198km ride from York to Sheffield. The VC and the team rode for around 12 hours and arrived in Hallam Square just after 9pm on Sunday to a small welcoming committee of family, friends and representatives from Marie Curie Cancer Care.
So far the fundraising total stands at over £8,400! Donations can still be made to the just giving site at www.justgiving.com/vcscycleride.
