Improving our facilities at Sheffield Hallam Active

This summer, Sheffield Hallam Active’s fitness and strength and conditioning facilities will be refurbished, expanding and modernising to provide a better service to our customers.

We are working closely with Precor, one of the world’s leading suppliers of fitness equipment, who will be providing our new kit along with Absolute Performance for our strength and conditioning equipment.

If you want to know more please get in touch or like us on Facebook where we will be posting regular updates.

More equipment, more space, more connected

At Collegiate Campus

  • the floor area will be increased by approximately 50%,
  • the number of stations will increase from 48 to 72
  • more  kit will be added – including treadmills

City Campus will have

  • a redesigned floor plan with dedicated cardiovascular, fixed resistance, free body and strength zones

Both sites will benefit from

  • more benches
  • new kit called The Adaptive Motion Trainer which goes from short to long strides, walking to running and climbing to lunging

The cardiovascular, range supplied by Precor is internet enabled so you can

  • track sessions through the cloud-based Preva system
  • listen to music, watch YouTube or read the latest news whilst working out

Inspirational facilities for performance sport

Following the investment in new equipment, our strength and conditioning facility will see athletes in Sheffield using the same high-quality equipment supplied to the RFU at Twickenham for the England Rugby Team.

Werksan racks, plates and bars will be the core items leading to a facility that is able to cater for more athletes training at a higher standard with a fully integrated floor that allows performance training to take place in every square centimetre.
