In July 2015, local schoolgirl Emily Knight will be spending 4 weeks in Borneo. She will be helping to build and improve schools and toilet blocks in the poorest areas, as well as playing with the children and teaching them English. She will also be doing environmental projects during the trip, including beach clean ups and tree planting in the jungle.
To make this trip, Emily needs to raise £3960, and one of her fundraising activities is a Race Night at the Sitwell Arms in Renishaw on 6 June from 7.15pm. There will also be a raffle and a tombola and she will be selling homemade cakes. Raffle prizes include free meals and gym passes, hair-cuts, sports vouchers, alcohol, etc. There may also be an auction.
Tickets are £5 (adults) and £3 (children under 10; free for under-3’s) and this includes a chip butty! Please contact her mum Angela at angela1098@hotmail.com, or on 07806 628270, for tickets and further information
Even if you cannot attend, you may be able to support Emily in other ways (eg donation; providing raffle / tombola prizes for future events; sponsorship; or items for car boot sales etc) – any form of support at all will be greatly appreciated.
