The smash hit musical Miss Nightingale returns to Sheffield by popular demand after taking the UK and West End by storm. With a new cast, new costumes and new songs, this exciting new production promises to be even funnier, sexier, and more touching than the show that wowed audiences at the Lyceum last year.
London 1942. Feisty northern singer Maggie and her refugee songwriter, George, struggle to find their big break. She longs for the bright lights. He’s hiding a dark secret in the shadows.
Everything changes when they are picked up by wealthy man-about-town Sir Frank. He needs a new act for his nightclub and transforms Maggie into the satirical music hall star ‘Miss Nightingale’. Her outrageous costumes, saucy songs and scandalous love life make her the toast of London.
But out of the spotlight the blossoming romance between the two men proves more devastating than The Blitz at a time when being gay was not just illegal but dangerously unpatriotic.
Eview has two tickets and a signed programme to give away for the performance of Miss Nightingale at the Library Theatre on Wednesday 30 April at 7.30pm.
