Vehicle crime around Norfolk Road

South Yorkshire Police are warning students and staff at Sheffield Hallam University to beware after a rise in auto crime in and around the Norfolk Road area.

Officers from the Sheffield East Safer Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out regular patrols in local streets to give drivers crime prevention messages as they park.

Any vehicle found with items or valuables on view has written information placed upon it so that returning motorists can obtain the same advice.

South Yorkshire Police launched Operation Lockdown in October to combat house burglary and vehicle crime. So far, more than 1,400 suspects have been arrested and over £3 million worth of property has been recovered.
