Science Cafe – ‘It’s different for girls’

This talk is given ahead of the South Yorkshire National Science and Engineering week by Pat Morton Director of WiSET (Women in Science Engineering and Technology)

Monday 3 March, 7pm The Showroom Bar

Why don’t more girls choose engineering and physical sciences post 16, and who has a responsibility to do something about it? The numbers of girls choosing to study and progress in science, engineering, technology and mathematics in the UK is inadequate. We know that there is no silver bullet and we know that trying to produce a ‘one size fits all’ approach is doomed to failure. We’ll present the facts and fictions surrounding these issues – but as importantly we want to invite you to join the discussion to air your views on what needs to change.

No booking or tickets required, this event is open to all.  For information on WiSET, see http://www.wiset.org.uk/  For more information on Science Cafe visit: http://www.sciencecafesheffield.org
