It’s a case of The Moor the merrier for gourmet lovers at this year’s Sheffield Food Festival with the popular event moving to a new date and location.
The 2014 Sheffield Food Festival will now take place on the bank holiday weekend between Saturday 24 May and Monday 26 May stretching from The Moor Market towards the city centre – and organisers are calling for food exhibitors to contact them if they want to join the festival success story.
Last year the City Centre attracted 244,000 visitors over three days establishing it as the leading city centre festival in the South Yorkshire region.
Moving the festival to a bank holiday weekend means it will be in a better position within the Sheffield city festival calendar and that more people in the region will have the opportunity to visit and enjoy all that the festival has to offer.
The event is being organised and delivered by The Sheffield Food Festival Partnership led by Sheffield Hallam University and including Sheffield City Council City Centre Management and Major Events team with its new partner Scottish Widows Investment Partnership Trust (SWIPT).
The Festival is a free urban event that celebrates South Yorkshire as a vibrant culinary destination showcasing the diverse food culture of the region and supports the local food economy.
