Represent your country of origin at live World Cup draw
Sheffield Hallam journalism lecturer and BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Philo Holland is looking for members of staff to help celebrate the countries of their origin in a special all-night football World Cup broadcast this Friday (6 December).
People representing all the countries taking part in the World Cup are needed to meet at the BBC’s MediaCity in Salford for midnight and to stay until around 5am to comment on the live football draw.
Radio 5 needs people whose roots are in the following countries: Belgium; Bosnia Herzegovina; Colombia; Ecuador; Mexico; Russia; Spain; Switzerland. You don’t need to be an expert, just enthusiastic and patriotic and need to bring a shirt or flag of the country you support.
If you are willing to get to MediaCity Quay House, you’ll be looked after and given refreshments.
Contact Philo on email philo.holland@shu.ac.uk as soon as possible to volunteer and for more information.
