New future for popular Sheffield athletics scheme

A new partnership between two city sports venues has boosted a popular Sheffield athletics scheme.

Sheffield International Venues (SIV) has teamed up with Sheffield Hallam University to create a new-look Athletics Unlimited scheme.

Members can use the track, throws area, high jump, long jump, pole vault and hurdles facilities at SIV’s English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EIS Sheffield).

As part of the new partnership, they will also be able to train at the newly-named and refurbished Sheffield Hallam University City Athletics Stadium.

Athletes who only want to use the Sheffield Hallam University City Athletics Stadium can join the Sheffield Hallam University Sport and Fitness Membership.

Previously, Athletics Unlimited offered access to EIS Sheffield and Don Valley Stadium.

Both EIS Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University City Athletics Stadium are used by elite athletes including Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Sheffield Hallam University already has a sport campus at EIS Sheffield.
