Does leadership need ethics? A discussion with Charles Elvin

Charles Elvin, CEO Institute of Leadership and Management
7 November, 6pm – 8pm
Sheffield Business School, Room 7138 Stoddart Building

In his talk, Charles Elvin will be discussing ethical leadership and the need for organisations to develop ‘robust’ organisational values and clear ethical guidelines. Drawing on recent ILM research – Added Values: The importance of ethical leadership

Charles will explore how organisations build and embed values and discuss the impact on ethical dilemmas at work. Informing work behaviours by linking values to strategy and openly discussing ethical dilemmas are argued as critical processes for developing leaders at all levels.

Transparency and open discussion are central in the drive to understand ethical behaviours and dilemmas and following the talk a debate (chaired by Richard Cresswell, Learning for Business) will give the opportunity for the audience to discuss the values that may help inform their own leadership practices.
