From time to time staff and students will receive suspicious emails from apparently reputable sources requesting confidential information regarding your financial accounts, loans, email accounts etc, or threatening imminent lock out of your account.
These emails usually contain a link prompting you to input your personal details. Do not click on this link. These emails are bogus. No reputable or trustworthy organisation will ask you for information in this way.
If you inadvertently provide your details, you should;
- immediately change your password, for staff at https://esp.shu.ac.uk/pwm/ for students at https://webutils.cis.shu.ac.uk/register/
- Immediately contact the real organisation to register that there are spam emails in circulation and you may have potentially compromised your account.
