The University’s new Careers and Employability Centre, in Hallam Square outside the entrance to the Owen Building on City Campus opened to Students on 23 September and a week of launch events will take place from 7-11 October.
A range of activities and information will be available to staff and students who call into the centre along with a daily competition on Twitter (#GradWithMore). Each day of the week will have a different theme:
- Monday 7 October: Social media for finding work
- Tuesday 8 October: Boosting your CV
- Wednesday 9 October: What employers are looking for (with presentations from IBM)
- Thursday 10 October: Get creative/ Self employment
- Friday 11 October: Selling yourself – making the most of you!

A series of careers workshops will take place throughout the term, bookable through the employability tab on shuspace. There are also a number of prestigious employers coming onto campus which your students will not want to miss. Please encourage them to attend.
